The Hinds Community College men's soccer team became the first team in the state of Mississippi to qualify for the playoffs on Wednesday, as the Eagles beat Itawamba Community College, 3-0.

Hinds got goals from Blanks Baldwin of Pearl (2nd), Michael Cooper of Vicksburg (8th)and Brandt Sutton of Brandon (7th).

The assists were provided by Austin Baker of Tupelo, Cooper and Brandon Mitchell of Clinton.

The Eagles, now 10-2 on the season, will host East Miss. Community College at home on Friday. Game time is 7 p.m.
