Men's soccer wins close one vs. Itawamba

The men's soccer team won narrowly on Thursday night at home, beating Itawamba Community College by the score of 2-1. The win moves the Eagles overall record to 5-2 on the season.
 
The victory also puts Hinds in the lead in the North division.
 
Michael Cooper of Vicksburg had a big night, scoring both goals for Hinds. Brandt Sutton of Brandon and Michael Bush of Florence were credited with assists.
 
The win made Hinds coach Doug Williams proud. "Our defense played a great game tonight," said Williams. "We outshot Itawamba 24-5 during the game, and this was just a very good team effort tonight."
 
Hinds will now host its annual Alumni Game on Saturday night. Festivities will kick off at 5 p.m. with the women's game, followed by men's action at 7 p.m.
