The Hinds Community College baseball team recently took part in a fundraising event for Community Animal Rescue & Adoption (CARA), Inc. CARA is a "no-kill," non-profit organization that cares for almost 300 dogs and 40 cats.
The team helped raise $1,000 in a three-hour span at the main four-way stop in front of the Raymond Campus.
"This was such a good way for our players to give of their time to help raise money for this organization," said Hinds head baseball coach Sam Temple. "For us to get out in the community and be this successful says a lot about the type of kids we have on our team."
The Eagles are currently in the fourth week of their allotted six weeks of fall practice.
