Hinds Community College has inducted five former athletes into its class of 2008 Sports Hall of Fame. The banquet and induction ceremony took place on Thursday, Sept. 25, just prior to the Hinds football game versus Jones County Junior College.

The five inductees are Granville Gore (deceased), Dr. Lisa Johnson, George "Randy" Shelton, John Vecchio and Richard Wilkinson. The inductees were chosen for their college and professional sports accomplishments as well as for their character, leadership and other accomplishments.
