Women’s soccer finishes second in the ECCC spring tourney

The Hinds Community College women’s soccer team finished in second place in the East Central Community College spring tournament on April 12.
The Lady Eagles won five games and tied 1, leaving the tournament with no goals scored against them.
Delta State University was able to win the tournament because of a point system.
Nadia Baltazar of Pearl and newcomer Deslyn Langaigne of Granada each scored four goals on the day for the Lady Eagles. Former Hinds standout and All-American Stephanie Little scored 1 on the day, while former Hinds goalie Emily Coker received the shutout for the day.
“The team played outstanding,” said Hinds coach Kori Crutchfield. “I am so proud of the fact that we didn’t lose a game or allow anyone to score on us.”
