The Hinds track team finished in eighth place overall at the 2008 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Outdoor Tournament held in Levelland, Texas over the weekend.
Anton Taylor of Jackson and Jeff Henderson of Sherwood, Ark. won their respective events to be crowned national champions and All-Americans.
Taylor ran the 100 meter dash in 10.38 seconds to be crowned national champion, while Henderson placed first by long jumping 25 feet, 6 inches.
Jerel Hill of Vicksburg finished in third place in the 100 meter dash, running a 10.52 and finished as an All-American.
Taylor also won All-American honors in the 200 meter dash for his time of 20.98 seconds, while teammate Jonathan Davis of Bahamas came in fifth place for his time of 21.09.
The 4x400 meter relay team of Davis, Cleveland Gipson of Webb, Jamal Moss of Bahamas and Jason Riles of New Albany had a sixth place finish with their time of 3:13.29.
