Hinds track fares well at Warhawk Classic
04/30/08 -  The Hinds track team competed at the Warhawk Classic on the campus of the University of Louisiana-Monroe (ULM) on Saturday. Once again, the Eagles were able to dominate in the speed events.

Anton Taylor of Jackson was the winner of the 100 meter dash, finishing with a time of 10.42 seconds. Taylor finished slightly ahead of Trell Kimmons (10.45), a former Hinds great of Coldwater who now runs for Team Adidas. Jerel Hill of Vicksburg was able to come in fourth place with a finish of 10.47 seconds.

The 4x100 meter relay team of Markie Faust (McComb), Hill, Terry Jackson (Tylertown) and Taylor finished in first place once again, winning with a time of 40.32, which beat the nearest competitor by over a second.

Michael Weldon of Brandon finished tied for first place in the high jump with a leap of 6'4 ¾" (1.75 meters).
