Hinds 4x100 meter relay team top-ranked in the nation

03/17/08 The Hinds Community College track team competed in the University of Southern Mississippi Invitational in Hattiesburg on Saturday and produced another strong showing. The 4x100 meter relay team of Markie Faust of McComb, Jerel Hill of Vicksburg, Terry Jackson of Tylertown and Anton Taylor of Jackson finished first in their event with a time of 39.38 seconds, good for first in the nation, according to www.iaaf.org.

Taylor also finished first in the 100 meter dash, with a blazing time of 10.48 seconds. The freshman continues to impress in the 60m and 100m dashes.

Other significant performers for the Eagles include:
  • 400 meter dash
Jason Riles of New Albany (10th place) 49.07 seconds
  • 200 meter dash
Jerel Hill of Vicksburg (5th place) 21.73 seconds
  • 100 meter dash
Jerel Hill of Vicksburg (tied for 3rd place) 10.61 seconds
