Women’s tennis finishes fifth at state
04/24/08 -  The Hinds women’s tennis team finished in fifth place recently at the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) state tournament. The tournament was held on the campus of Meridian Community College.

The Lady Eagles lost all four matches in the semifinals in three sets.

Daria Egorova of Moscow, Russia, who has been the most consistent singles player for Hinds, went into the tournament ranked #30 in the entire country.

“Our inexperience showed, since we are a team made up of all freshmen,” said Hinds coach Shawn Garrick. “However, we have laid down a strong foundation for the future and will be much improved next season.”
