Hinds tennis continues its solid play

The Hinds Community College men’s and women’s tennis teams have continued their solid play heading into the postseason.
Hleb Maslau of Belarus is still undefeated at this point in the season, posting an amazing 13-0 record. Maslau recently defeated the top player from Meridian Community College, who was the former number one player in the state of Mississippi. Maslau won in a rout, 6-3 and 6-1.
Both teams were victorious against Itawamba, with the men winning 6-3 and the women prevailing 5-4. Hinds then took on Meridian, but was very unsuccessful, losing 8-1 in men’s play and 9-0 in women’s play.
The Eagles and Lady Eagles rebounded against East Central, however, with the men winning 6-3 and the women posting a 7-0 shutout.
The men's team is currently 10-3 overall and the women are 7-6. Hinds finishes up the regular season on Monday at Jones.
The women’s state tournament starts on Thu, Apr. 17 with the men's state tournament beginning on the following Thursday.
