The Hinds Community College men’s and women’s tennis teams played three events in the last week of March, with the men going 2-1 and the women dropping two of three.

Hleb Maslau of Minsk, Belarus, continues to stand out for the men’s team, as he is the lone player on either side that is still undefeated. Maslau, along with Allan Hall of Freeport, Bahamas, is undefeated in doubles play as well.

The Eagles dropped their first match of the week on Wed, March 26 at Meridian Community College. The Meridian women shut out the Lady Eagles of Hinds 9-0. The Hinds men, who were playing short-handed due to injuries, were defeated by the Meridian men 6-3.

Hinds would then take on Southwest Community College the following day, sweeping the visitors 5-4 in women’s action and 8-1 in men’s play. The Lady Eagles were able to win despite competing with only four players.

Friday saw Hinds match up against Co-Lin Community College, with the men’s team winning 9-0 and the women losing 8-1. The women were once again short on players, and the Lady Wolves of Co-Lin took full advantage.

Hinds was scheduled to play East Central Community College and Pearl River Community College on Monday, March 31 and Tuesday, April 1, but both of these matches have both been canceled due to bad weather.

The Eagles and Lady Eagles will return to action on Wed, Apr. 3, when they travel to Columbus to take on Itawamba Community College.
