Hinds softball signs left-handed pitcher

Hinds Community College softball coach Andy Lee has announced the signing of an out-of-district left-handed pitcher. Alyx Atkinson of Natchez has inked a scholarship with the Lady Eagles for the 2008-2009 season.
Atkinson was the ace pitcher for Trinity Episcopal Day School in Natchez in 2008.
"We need some help in the circle next season with the departure of Taylor James," said Lee. "I hope that Alyx can come in and give us some quality innings as a freshman."
Hinds is coming off the best season in the program's recent history, as the Lady Eagles finished runner-up in the regional championship game behind a solid 34-20 record.
