Hinds softball drops second game to EC; looks toward regional
04/28/08 -  The Hinds softball team lost the second game of the 2008 Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) state tournament on Friday, thus eliminating the Lady Eagles from the double-elimination tournament.

Hinds lost to East Central Community College 6-3 after having a 3-1 lead going into the seventh inning.

"It was a tough loss for us, but we will have a good week of practice and get ready for regionals," said Hinds coach Andy Lee.

Hinds will be the number six seed in the Region XXIII tournament starting on Friday. The tournament will be played at Traceway Park in Clinton and will last throughout the weekend.

Gulf Coast Community College and Co-Lin Community College were rained out in Saturday's championship game, and the two teams will make the title game up on Tuesday at Clinton High School.
