04/18/08 Hinds Community College softball coach Andy Lee has added two signees from Rankin County for the 2008-2009 season. Chelsae Kelley of Pearl and Lauren Sipes of Brandon have both inked with the highly successful Lady Eagles program.

Kelley is a multi-sport standout at Madison-Ridgeland Academy, where she lettered in basketball, fast pitch softball, soccer and track. Kelley is also a dual-sport signee at Hinds, inking a women's soccer scholarship with the Lady Eagles in December 2007.

"Chelsae is a very talented athlete who plays the game with a lot of determination," said Hinds coach Andy Lee. "It is obvious that she is very skilled judging by how successful she is in a number of different sports."

Sipes is also a multi-sport standout at University Christian School, as evidenced by her selection to the Mississippi Private School Association (MPSA) All-Star game in basketball, as well as being a very polished softball star.

"Lauren is a very athletic player with good speed and a very good arm," said Lee. "She will probably settle in the infield for us, but has the ability to play a number of different positions."
