Hinds baseball signs Forest Hill standout
04/28/08 -  Jonathan McClendon of Jackson, a catcher/outfielder at Forest Hill High School, has signed a baseball scholarship with Hinds Community College for the 2008-2009 season. McClendon is a power-hitting prospect for coach Jeff Morrow’s Rebels.

“Jonathan is a very talented young man that we feel will blossom into a very good ball player,” said Hinds coach Sam Temple. “He has a great amount of physical strength, and we feel like his best days lie ahead.”

McClendon is the 10th high school senior to sign with Hinds for the upcoming season.

“Our signing class is rounding out very nicely right now,” Temple said. “We hope to add a couple of pitchers from out-of-state, and they should complement our other signees.”
