Billy Womack, 1964-1966, Football
Billy Womack was an All-State center for Coach Joe Renfroe for two seasons in the mid-1960s. In addition to his All-State honor, Womack earned Magnolia Conference All-Star in 1963. From Hinds, he was awarded a football scholarship to nearby Mississippi College, but injuries forced him to end his playing days early.
Since college, Womack has worked as a general agent with Ford Motor Credit Corporation and Shelter Insurance Company.
In 1977, Womack and his brother went into partnership in a farming operation, Womack Brothers Farms. In 1990, he and his wife Paulette formed Bill Womack Farms. Their operation currently consists of 1,600 acres of row crops, cotton, grain and cattle.
He serves on many civic and business organizations, including the National Cotton Council, American Soybean Association, Hinds County Soil Conservation Service and Mississippi Farm Bureau Association. In addition, Womack is a member of the Mississippi Extension Service Advisory Committee.
Womack continues to stay involved in sports by playing on a number of independent open class softball teams throughout the southeastern United States.
Womack is a former director and board president at Rebul Academy. He and his wife of 37 years, Paulette, live in Utica. They have a daughter, Morgan, who played soccer at HCC from 2003-2005, and a son William, a senior in high school.
