With spring in full swing, we are greeted by cool breezes and sunny days - the picture-perfect weather for a game of golf! Pack up your clubs and lace up your golf shoes and get ready for the 21st Annual Golf Fun Fest at Hinds Community College at Eagle Ridge Golf Course. On Thursday, April 17, 2008, we will be celebrating another year of fun, fellowship and fund-raising for a worthy cause of supporting deserving student scholars.
What is the purpose of the Golf Fun Fest?
The purpose of the Golf Fun Fest is to raise monies for student scholarships and for Hinds Community College Development Foundation projects. In the past 20 years, through the dedication of supportive sponsors and great golfers, the tournament has raised $819,902. In 2007, the tournament brought in more than $65,000, which was the best year to date.
How can I be a part of the Golf Fun Fest?
You can participate as a hole sponsor or floating green sponsor, compete as a corporate team, a morning round player or an afternoon round player or donate gifts for our prize-packed auction for our evening reception. Your participation and contributions would be greatly appreciated.

How much does it cost to take part in the 4-man scramble fund-raising tournament?
· Afternoon corporate team for $1,000
· Morning corporate team for $800
· Afternoon round player $175
· Morning round player $125
· Hole Sponsor $400.00
· Floating Green Sponsor $250.00
Corporate teams also include a hole sign on course. All amounts include cart and green fee, continental breakfast and lunch at the golf course as well as dinner at the home of Hinds Community College President Dr. Clyde Muse and wife Vashti Muse.

Morning Round
7:00 a.m. - Driving range opens, sponsored by The Trusty Company
7:30 a.m. - Continental Breakfast, Eagle Ridge Picnic Area
8:00 a.m. - Tee-off, Shotgun Start
Noon - Lunch, Eagle Ridge Picnic Area
5:30 p.m. - President's Reception and Floating Green Play Home of Dr. and Mrs. Clyde Muse
6:30 p.m. - Dinner for Players and Guests · Designated Prizes Awarded
Afternoon Round
11:00 a.m. - Driving range opens, sponsored by The Trusty Company
Noon - Lunch, Eagle Ridge Picnic Area
1:00 p.m. - Tee-off, Shotgun Start
5:30 p.m. - President's Reception and Floating Green Play Home of Dr. and Mrs. Clyde Muse

What are the fun facets of the Golf Fun Fest?
As a gift of gratitude, each golfer will receive a tee gift courtesy of LogoStore USA.
Designated prizes will be awarded at dinner at the college president's home. Winners are not required to be in attendance at the dinner to receive designated prizes. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories for A.M. and P.M. rounds:
· Closest to the Hole: #3, #9, #11
· Lowest Team Score (net and gross)
· Longest Drive: #14
· Overall Corporate Team Trophy
The fun doesn't stop at the Eagle Ridge Golf Course; the evening festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. and come casually dressed to the home of Hinds Community College President Dr. Clyde Muse and wife Vashti Muse are always a big hit! Guest will also enjoy refreshments, dinner, music by the Hinds CC Stage Band and a great auction. A popular Golf Fun Fest tradition returns, as the "floating green" will be set up in the Muses' lake. For a nominal fee of $5, golfers receive three balls for chances to hit the floating green to win cash prizes. The lucky golfer who gets a hole-in-one wins $250.
Remember to Register Early
The Golf Fun Fest is restricted to the first 112 registrant per round. Register early to ensure your participation because player spots cannot be held. Player spots are secured upon receipt of payment.
A full round of golf will be played in both the morning and afternoon rounds. However, in the event of inclement weather, the golf round will be canceled and he dinner will be moved to McKenzie Arena. A rainy day certificate for one round of golf at Eagle Ridge Golf Course will be given to each player who is unable to complete the round.
