Students should refer to their handbook for:
• Attendance requirements and what results can come from your choices to be tardy and absent from class. See section entitled "Attendance-Withdrawal."
• Withdrawal procedures are in the section called "Attendance-Withdrawal"; dates to withdraw are in the College Calendar located at the beginning of the Student Handbook and College Catalog. Please note that the MSVCC dates for withdrawal differ from that of traditional Hinds courses.
• Conduct, behavior and discipline rules & fines (minimum $25) for not visibly wearing your ID, using profanity, cell phone ringing in class, shouting or playing music too loudly, etc. See complete rules in section called "College Policies/Regulations."
• An ID card is issued to each student as part of the registration process. No charge is made for the first card issued. The replacement cost for a lost, stolen or missing ID card will be $5. The ID card must be surrendered to any College official upon request. The Hinds Student ID card serves the student in many ways and MUST BE WORN ON A VISIBLE LOCATION OF ONE'S PERSON AT ALL TIMES WHEN ON COLLEGE PROPERTY.
• Vehicle on campus - what to do and what's expected of you if you want to park a vehicle on campus. See "Law Enforcement" and "Motor Vehicle Rules and Regulations."
• Financial aid - grades and credit hour requirements to follow to apply for money every semester; steps to complete by deadlines every year; scholarships, loans, grants, work-study. Meet all admission requirements before financial aid can pay your fees. Ability to benefit required test scores for Career students and early admitted students to receive financial aid. Stay in the guidelines to keep financial aid by taking and passing the right number of hours. Remember "W's" count in hours attempted for financial aid. See "Policy on Satisfactory Scholastic Progress for Recipients of Federally Funded Financial Aid and Veterans Benefits."
• Campus housing - important information and rules to follow if you live on campus, such as having an overall 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and being enrolled full-time (12 or more hours). See "Housing Services" and "Residence Hall Policies and Regulations." Residence hall students on the Raymond and Utica campuses have local medical assistance and area hospitals in Hinds, Copiah, Rankin and Warren counties.
