April 21 - May 16   Advance Registration for Summer Mini-Term Classes (See Class Schedule for exceptions to the above registration dates)

May 19   First day of classes for Summer Mini-Term
Late Registration /Drop/Add for Mini-Term (additional fees - see fee schedule)

May 29   Last day to withdraw from Summer Mini-Term Classes

May 30   Last day and final exams for Mini-Term Classes

May 29   Open Registration - for first and second summer terms, eight-weeks and evening classes

May 29 - August 8   General Advance Registration for 2008 Fall Semester continues (See Guide to Enrollment for exceptions to the above registration dates)

May 30   Registration ends for MS Virtual Community College classes by 4 p.m.

June 1   Residence halls open at 4 p.m.
              MSVCC course sites open

June 2   First day of classes for first four-week and eight-week terms
First day of classes for MS Virtual Community College

June 2-3   Drop and add (see regulations and fee schedule)
Drop and add period for MS Virtual Community College classes by 4 p.m.

June 17   First day to withdraw from a first four-week term class

June 24   Last day to withdraw from a first four-week term class

June 27   Last day of first four-week summer term classes and final examinations
Open Registration for second four-week term

June 30   First day of classes for second four-week summer term
Grades must be posted on My.Hinds by 10 a.m.

June 30 - July 1   Drop and add for second four-week term

July 3-4   Independence Day Holiday (No registration; day and night classes will not meet)

July 7   First day to withdraw from an eight-week class

July 11   Last day to withdraw from a MS Virtual Community College class

July 17   First day to withdraw from a second four-week term class

July 24   Last day to withdraw from a second four-week term or eight-week term class

July 25   Summer grades due for MS Virtual Community College classes by 11 a.m.

July 29   Last day for second four-week and eight-week term classes
Final Examinations
Residence halls close at 4 p.m.

July 30   Grades must be posted on My.Hindscc.edu by 10 a.m..

August 1   Summer Graduation (Raymond)

2008 FALL SEMESTER

August 13   Residence halls open for new students

August 13-14   Open Registration for all locations as announced

August 14   Residence halls open for returning students

August 15     Last day to register without added fees

August 18   First day for full-semester and first eight-week classes

August 18-22   Drop and add (see regulations and fee schedule)
Late Registration (additional fees - see fee schedule)

August 22   Registration ends for MS Virtual Community College classes by 4 p.m.
Last day (by 3 p.m.) to add or drop a full-semester and first eight-week day class
before mid-term

August 25     First day of classes for MS Virtual Community College (course site opens August 24)
Last day to add a Monday evening class

August 25-26   Drop and add period for MS Virtual Community College classes by 4 p.m.

August 26   Last day to add a Tuesday evening class

August 27   Last day to add a Wednesday evening class

August 28   Last day to add a Thursday evening class

September 1   Labor Day Holiday (day and night classes will not meet)

September 18   First day to withdraw from a first eight-week class

October 3    Priority deadline to apply for Fall Graduation

October 6   Last day to withdraw from a first eight-week class

October 7   First day a student may withdraw from a full semester class

October 10   End of first eight-week term and mid-term for full-semester classes

October 13   Fall Break Holiday (day and night classes will not meet)

October 14   First day of second eight-week term
First eight-week term and mid-term grades must be posted on My.Hinds by 10 a.m.
First day a student may withdraw from a full semester class

October 14-15   Late Registration, drop and add for second eight-week term

November 7   Last day to withdraw from MS Virtual Community College classes

November 10   First day a student may withdraw from a second eight-week class

November 10-14   Advance Registration for 2009 Spring Term for currently enrolled Hinds students only

November 17-21    General Advance Registration for 2009 Spring Term

November 21   Residence halls close at 4 p.m. for Thanksgiving Holidays (night classes will not meet)

November 24-28   Thanksgiving Holidays (day and night classes will not meet)

Dec. 1-18    General Advance Registration for 2009 Spring Term

November 30   Residence halls open at 4 p.m.

December 1   Classes resume after Thanksgiving Holidays

December 3   Last day to withdraw from a class or all classes

December 5   Fall semester grades due for MS Virtual Community College classes by 11 a.m.

December 10   Final examinations for Wednesday night classes only
Last day of classes

December 11-12; 15-16   Final examinations - day and evening classes

December 16   Residence halls close at 4 p.m.

December 17   Grades must be posted on My.Hinds by 10 a.m.

December 19   Fall Graduation (at Raymond)
