Entering Freshmen
Hinds Community College does not discriminate in its admission of students on the basis of sex, race, color,
national origin, or disability.
Hinds Community College subscribes to an "open door" policy in that all applicants having fulfilled
admission requirements will be considered for acceptance to the College. Requirements for admission are not
restrictive but may vary for individual programs. Therefore, admission to Hinds Community College does not
necessarily mean admission to the program desired by the student. Although applicants for admission must
satisfy the general admission requirements, the College reserves the right to accept or reject an applicant to a
particular educational program.
The District Office of Admissions and Records is responsible for administering admission policies. All
applicants are notified of their admission status as required documents are received in the District Office of
Admissions and Records.
